Invited by: Saffy has cursed everyone including herself for this shit deer that I'm inflicting upon the game oh my GOD
Other Characters: Dan Heng, Harumasa Asaba, K'rihnn Tia
Character Name: Alastor
Canon: Hazbin Hotel
Canon History: Alastor
Canon Personality: Can I just say he's a charming bastard serial killer and call it a day? No? Okaaaaay....
🦌 Alastor is a very charming man, which honestly goes a long way.
🦌 He's almost delightfully hingeless given that he has fun with the lack of them.
🦌 His morals are very... twisted, and he can be hypocritical at times, but he has lines that he doesn't personally cross. For example, in the show he never touches Angel Dust, but he's more than happy to invade Husk and Charlie's personal space because the former hates it just as much as he does and the latter likes friendly touches. It makes him seem affable.
🦌 Alastor extremely doesn't tolerate people being unkind or violent towards women. In a comic that showcases a day in his life, he's shown tearing a butcher demon limb from limb and eating the guy for trying to slaughter a sheep demon woman.
🦌 Overall, he prefers hanging out with women as he views them as more intelligent than men.
🦌 He values intelligence and cunning in other people, and possibly admires people being unfailingly optimistic in the face of despair.
🦌 That being said, Alastor is a very manipulative man. He plots, schemes, and uses people like chess pieces to get the desired result. Even his deals can have word play in them to favor him no matter what happens.
🦌 His ultimate goal is to be the strongest demon there is so that he isn't chained down by others or picked off like the other weaker demons. He doesn't seem to particularly care about ruling people necessarily. Alastor seems to only want it in order to protect himself, and perhaps to also deal his own justice in Hell.
🦌 Do NOT call him a pet. You will probably die if you do.
🦌 On being asked about why he works at a hotel focused on redemption when he doesn't really care about it in the first place, his answer is that it's amusing to watch people struggle and fail numerous times.
🦌 That being said, if you try to friendship at him, he WILL have a fucking crash out about it. This deer is NOT okay.
🦌 If Alastor decides that he wants to protect something, he will protect it with extreme violence.
🦌 Don't forget he's a serial killer. Murder is never off the table.
🦌 Alastor never stops smiling because it doesn't let people see any vulnerabilities, and also it unnerves the fuck out of them. He tends to lose respect for people who lose their smile no matter the circumstances, but that doesn't seem to apply to the Hazbin Hotel crew.
🦌 He hates being touched so much that he'll bend his body away with unnatural and disturbing flexibility to greatly discourage that happening again. The place he hates being touched the most, though, is his hair. Don't do it. He bites and I can't guarantee you won't get demon rabies if you survive.
🦌 He also hates not being the center of attention or, worst of all, being seen as inconsequential. The man will most likely be checked out if he's not the focus.

AU History: CW: Death, implied racism for the time period, Alastor being a serial killer, violence
Alastor was born in New Orleans to a mixed race family in 1898. The boy was never quite right, but he loved his mom a lot. His relationship with his father was not the best as he'd been an absent father for the boy. Still, the little family made it work. His mother was only ever able to have one child, so she cherished Alastor greatly. When he was old enough, she would teach him how to cook and help around the house. Although not a very popular choice given the time period, she wanted to give her son the best possible chance of surviving in his adult life.
He did well enough in school despite the times, though he didn't make any friends truth be told. He was a charming boy and the teachers mostly loved him, but he kept a certain distance from his peers. Although he got along well with everyone, that didn't stop people from mocking him or looking down on him due to something outside of his control. However, if there was one thing Alastor was unexpectedly passionate about, it was the radio. His dream was to be a successful radio star and create a studio that could outshine all others.
However, it was in his adulthood that his weird moral code really blossomed. His star as a radio host rose rapidly in the New Orleans area, and he was able to share what he made with his mother to help her out. Alastor got along well with pretty much everyone, but he was still unable to escape the mockery completely. One day, he snapped and quietly dealt with it by killing that person, hiding their body in the bayou. It wasn't the most elegant of his killings, but it was definitely the start to his particular brand of "justice." Alastor just had to be very careful about his victims to not get caught. While those who mocked him or messed with him would certainly pay the price, so did those who did violence towards women. Could he have called the cops on those people? Sure, but that route wasn't fun.
It all came to an end abruptly, honestly. Alastor never got caught, but when he was disposing a body he met with an unfortunate end. A hunter and his dogs were in the area that night, and the dog alerted the hunter to the presence of a "deer." When he looked up, the shadows of the trees distorted his appearance to make him look like a deer. What was a hunter to do but shoot?
The bullet went straight through his head.
It should've killed him instantly. It probably would've been for the best if it had.
Unfortunately for everyone, including Alastor, that wasn't the case. Instead, the Archangel Michael decided that he wanted to alleviate some boredom. Things were peaceful in Heaven, and he had decided that the best way to challenge himself was by trying his hand at redeeming some poor soul.
That "poor soul" turned out to be Alastor. You almost have to pity the bastard.
The entire ordeal had him awakening to his power and to the memories of his past life. He'd heard of The Black Order, which was one reason why he'd made sure to be careful with his victims. When he'd been revived thanks to Michael's intervention, Alastor had been swiftly approached by a Guardian in the hopes of recruiting him to their cause.
A Guardian who mysteriously disappeared and whose body was never recovered.
From then on, Alastor would roam around the continent. He became something of a horrific cryptid across North America, but one who could be helpful. Sometimes. Michael was doing his best to curb this fucked up deer's killing instinct, but that mostly involved directing it towards killing those who either objectively deserve to die horrible deaths or people nobody would object to dying like that. No eating them, though. Michael had to draw a line somewhere.
As the years past and technology advanced, he had to get pretty creative to keep The Order off his trail. Any Zealots who had the misfortune of crossing his path would be brutally murdered. He didn't want his identity known to The Order's Unyielding or else the pursuit would never end. Alastor wasn't interested in being chained to yet another powerful entity, thanks. As much as he hated it, keeping up with technological advancements was key to his survival and maintaining his freedom.
He did hear that Husk was a Guardian in The Black Order, though. Their little ploy was insultingly obvious to him, but he also didn't need Husk and was more than content to leave the cat to his business. Alastor did, however, keep a much closer eye on The Order after that. He wanted to make sure he wasn't anywhere that Husk would be deployed to. However, he did have some fun with it by making The Order go on a wild goose chase for "Alastor sightings" that he fabricated.
His wanderings took him out of the country occasionally for a change of scenery. There was a time in Ireland where he'd crossed paths with Mollymauk as a child. Alastor was normally highly indifferent to children, but Michael encouraged him to help the kid out since he looked like he was in trouble. So, he observed from afar and watched what was happening before tailing the group to see if he could get to the root of it all. Truly, Alastor wished that he could blind himself since Michael further pushed him into doing some digging into this business. On learning the truth of this rot, he did agree with Michael that this "family" might as well face retribution.
The only souls allowed to leave with their lives were those deemed innocent.
So. Progress was maybe made on the deer that day. Maybe. A very big maybe. A load-bearing maybe, one could say.
The most interesting news was when he heard about the rebellion going down within The Order. Alastor and Michael both watched that from the sidelines, though not literally which was a great pity. After the fall of the old guard, he didn't have to worry as much about pursuit. Or, rather, he didn't have to worry about being pursued for his power. However, there was the possibility that The Order would come after him in an attempt to exterminate him.
He took some time to ponder the new situation he found himself in. It took a lot of debating with Michael about it, but eventually Alastor agreed that his best chance of continued survival was to meet with Husk. He would have to somehow convince the old bartender to call off the bloodhounds.
As for the rest?
Well...
Kaisou seemed to be a highly entertaining place, so perhaps he could amuse himself there for a little while before moving on again.
AU Personality Differences: 🦌 There's been an angel stuck in his head for 94 years trying to make him a better person and he's mad about it. He's so mad about it. Big mad. At the same time, he begrudgingly respects the glorified turkey in his brain.
🦌 As much as he hates modern technology, he does have a successful true crime podcast that's bringing in the money. The show is called Pernicious Prattling.
🦌 There's a glimmer of a chance of redemption for at least this version of Alastor, but good luck with that if you try.
